Robin Hood Primary School

"Success is in the journey, not the destination; we are all learners"

Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to our wonderful school and thank you for visiting our brand new website! My name is Mrs Harris, and I am privileged to have been the Head Teacher of Robin Hood Primary School since January 2016. Robin Hood Primary School is a good School located in the South of Leeds within the Rothwell family of schools. The vast majority of pupils are from within a tight catchment area but some specially funded children do come from further afield. We are a two form entry school which currently has 472 children from 3-11 on roll with a nursery offering 15 and 30 hour places.

We encourage all of our pupils to have high expectations and believe that, ‘Success is in the Journey, Not the Destination’ and we are committed to ensuring that all children leave our school with the skills they require to make a positive contribution to society. At Robin Hood, we are positive, friendly and committed to our children, demonstrating a real enthusiasm for learning. We have a warm, welcoming atmosphere, purposeful environment and amazing children.

We are incredibly proud of our many achievements which include; the Sainsbury’s Gold award for Sport, the Third Millennium Award and the ICT Mark Accreditation. We are also delighted to be a strategic partner of the St Anthony's Primary Learning Partnership, allowing us to contribute nationally to improving the education in other schools. Our school is also proud to be part of the Schools Direct programme training new teachers through Leeds Trinity University. We also work closely with other local schools in the Rothwell Learning Alliance and we are committed to supporting each other in order to provide the very best to children across our community.

The last 18 months has seen a change in how we work as a school, due to Covid regulations and the safety measures we have put in place. Our focus on community, supporting and looking out for each other, has never been more important than it has been this year. The partnership between school, children and parents/carers is crucial and we endeavour to build positive relationships to ensure that all of our children continue to reach their full potential.

Whether you are an existing parent or potentially a new parent, we hope that you find our website informative, useful and a reflection of our wonderful school. Under normal circumstances, we do welcome visits but these are determined by the latest Government and Local Authority guidance.

Thank you again,

Sara Harris
