Reading Ambassadors

Our school Reading Ambassadors were established in April 2023. They have a special, important and valued role across school. All children who are reading ambassadors or vice reading ambassadors have completed an application form and then were chosen to take part in an interview.

The group meet fortnightly with a Senior Leader and are actively involved in promoting reading for pleasure across school.   They also support the teachers with the running of the class libraries by scanning books in and out and keeping a paper record of the School Library Service books that the children can also borrow and take home.

If a Reading Ambassador is not present on the day of the meeting, the Vice Reading Ambassador for that year group will attend in their place.

They feedback to the Senior Leader on what is happening in the classrooms and what they feel will improve and promote reading across school.

It is a role that is developing and evolving and we are excited to see where and how the role will continue to grow across this next academic year!
