PE at Robin Hood
Our PE commitment:
Key Stage One and Two have two hours of timetabled PE per week; one indoor and one outdoor.
At Robin Hood, we follow the Real PE scheme of work. The Real PE approach focuses on developing core skills such as balance, agility, coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning. By following this scheme, we aim to ensure that every child leaves our school with the skills and confidence to enjoy physical activity throughout their life.
We provide the children at Robin Hood with a broad and varied PE curriculum which gives children the opportunity to develop and master fundamental skills. What children learn in the Foundation Stage is built on in Key Stage 1 and applied in a wide variety of activities during their time in Key Stage 2. We also teach children the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle and keeping fit.
Below you will find our PE curriculum map which shows the units of work which are delivered in each year group.
By working with a variety of providers, we offer our pupils a wide range of exciting extra-curricula opportunities.
This half term we are offering the following clubs;
Monday- Key Stage 2 Football training
Tuesday- Key Stage 1 Multi Sports
Wednesday- Key Stage 1 Gymnastics
Thursday– Key Stage 2 Dance
Work to develop physical education and extra-curricular sport is very effective.
