Nursery

Nursery is an exciting year as your children begin their learning journey with us. We provide endless opportunities for children to explore, be creative and question the learning and environment around them. The Nursery environment is imperative to allowing children to work both collaboratively and independently. Across the year, children are provided with a range of child led, child initiated and adult led learning, exposing them to an enriched, broad and balanced curriculum.

The Nursery curriculum is based around prime and specific areas of learning. The prime areas are important because they lay the foundations for children's success in all other areas of learning and of life: Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Physical Development. Communication and Language. The specific areas reflect individual children's life experiences including their cultural and social background: Maths, Literacy, Understanding of the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. Across the year, children are provided with appropriate activities, challenges and support within a stimulating environment to allow children to grow and progress.

The curriculum is also based on 6 topics which provide a stimulus to learning. These topics are: Julia Donaldson, Celebrations, Princesses and Pirates, Traditional Tales, Minibeasts and Growing and Changing. Through teaching these topics across the year, children are provided with enriched, meaningful experiences which contributes to their holistic development.

Reception
